Waiting List Types and Status
- Tenant Based Vouchers (Housing Choice Voucher) – The Spokane County Voucher waiting list is CLOSED. For information about the North Counties and Whitman County waiting lists, please contact their associated agencies. While the primary list is closed, the Mainstream and FUP waiting lists are open only to those currently on the Spokane County Voucher waiting list, who meet the following criteria:
- Mainstream Vouchers – for those who are non-elderly (ages 18-61) with a disability. If you meet these criteria and are on the Spokane County Voucher waiting list, please log into MyPortal and use the Contact Us tile to email your request to be added to the Mainstream Voucher waiting list.
- Family Unification Vouchers (FUP) – for families whom the lack of adequate housing is a primary factor in the family’s child or children being at risk of out-of-home care, or a primary reason for a child or children not being able to return home. FUP and FYI vouchers are also available to youth ages 18 to 24 who have left foster care or will leave foster care within 180 days and are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. If you meet these criteria and are on the Spokane County Voucher waiting list, please log into MyPortal and use the Contact Us tile to email your request to be added to the Mainstream Voucher waiting list.
- Project Based Vouchers (PBV)– These are specific units at specific properties with rental assistance ‘attached.’ For more information, please see the PBV page. As of 11/4/25 at 11:59pm, all PBV waiting lists are CLOSED.
- Homeownership Vouchers – This waiting list is CLOSED.

- Update Your Application
It is important that applicants on SHA waiting lists keep their contact information current. If you would like to submit a change of address, or other updates on the information provided on your original application, please submit the update using one of the following methods:
